CU Broadcast Lending Interview

The Partnership FCU’s David Martinez Talks Lending Evolution with CU Broadcast

February 2, Arlington, VA — The Partnership Federal Credit Union Director of Lending Strategies and Business Technologies, David Martinez, was recently featured on CU Broadcast, discussing how the Credit Union leveraged data analytics to launch effective new lending products.

Martinez spoke with host Mike Lawson on how the Credit Union launched a “lending evolution” in 2014, which leveraged data analytics to develop new products for members to help them move up the financial ladder toward stability and ultimately prosperity. He addressed a few of these products, including ZipLINE Credit Builder, an open-ended loan to help credit challenged members break their reliance on payday lenders; and InstantRefi, a self-service tool to reduce monthly auto loan payments by extending loan terms.

“At The Partnership FCU, we believe in building value through partnership,” said Theresa Mann, President/CEO of The Partnership FCU. “When we discovered that we were not meeting target loan growth goals or developing products and services to better meet our members’ needs, we knew we needed to find a way to shift our lending strategy in order to provide value to our members.”

The Partnership FCU experienced some impressive internal results from its Lending Evolution plan, as well as an Excellence in Lending Award from CUNA Lending Council and the CU Journal Best Practices Award for the ZipLINE Credit Builder.
