The Partnership FCU Tradition of Giving Continues in 2018
January 3 – In 2018, The Partnership Federal Credit Union raised over $5,000 for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. For more than 140 years, families in the nation’s capital have relied on the Children’s National Medical Center for pediatric healthcare.
The Partnership FCU team actively fundraises throughout the year as a part of Credit Unions for Kids, a national non-profit collaboration of credit unions united to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
A quick round-up of our 2018 fundraising efforts include:
- Jeans Day: $2,055
- Skip a Pay: $1,440
- Cyber Week: $688.30
- Drop Off Your Drawers Underwear Drive: Over 100 pairs of underwear and $600 donated.
- Cherry Blossom Run: Twelve employees and one Board Member volunteered for the Expo for four-hour shifts.
- Children’s Hospital Tour: The Children’s National Medical Center generously extended an invitation to our employees for a private tour of their facilities. In addition to behind-the-scenes look at the state of the art technology used to help patients, the tour included a stop by the new Bunny Mellon Healing Garden, a spacious 7,200-square-foot rooftop garden where patients can enjoy the outdoors and inspiring views of the nation’s capital.
- Inpatient Unit Rounds: Employees manned patient carts stocked with coffee, toys and games and did their “rounds” to spread cheer to the children and their families.
“We believe that everyone in our community deserves value through partnership,” said Theresa Mann, President/CEO of The Partnership FCU. “We are extremely grateful for the generosity, efforts and contributions from both our members and our employees to help patients at Children’s National Medical Center. It is a true showing of value through partnership.”
The Partnership FCU team has already started exploring fundraising opportunities for the new year.
